We love Telluride! The site we choose was surrounded by aspens and had no electric, which was ok since this was our first trip with solar panels. 🙂
We spent five nights at the campground most of the time we spent riding the gondola to the tops of the ski resort and hiking all around. There is a very large waterfall just outside of town that is fun to hike to (and very crowed). Downtown is always interesting to walk around, there is a grocery store, lots of touristy stores, restaurants, and a free gondola that you can take the dogs on!
Be aware though, there are ALWAYS lots of biting flies in Telluride. Perhaps it’s from all the moisture that they receive? Also, the fishing was awful—we fished a lot, and didn’t get one hit.
There are so many hiking areas and ghost towns in Telluride—you can’t help but enjoy yourself!
