Spring time in RMNP—yes we were crazy! The campground was full, the pines were losing their pollen, worms were falling out of the trees (that is a NIGHTMARE for me!), and the rivers were flooding. But, we wanted to experience it all! 🙂

We were informed that the bears were visiting the area, and were told to make sure all of our food was stored in the food boxes or out of sight in our car. We opted for the car. We found a clump of bear fur and bear tracks. After returning from one of our hikes, we were told we just missed seeing the bear in camp!

RMNP is a wonderful place to take the kids! There are so many ranger lead programs to enjoy during the camping season: lectures, walks, astronomy outings, and movies. We love doing all of the programs. The night sky and astronomy evening is amazing. We’ve  never seen such large telescopes—some so tall you have to stand on a ladder to look through them! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOlZDt9fEiE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7F0kLWgE4g

Looking for some great gear while you are in Estes Park? Check out the Warming House. We always stop in, and we have purchased all our backpacks from here!
